Story Challenge Day 21: You Asked For It…

…you got it!

I had some folks mention yesterday that boy, it might be cool to see a story I’ve told.

Well…after digging around, I found a video of one! There are others I’m trying to dig up (especially The Great Banana Fight of 1978), but this one below is a favorite.

I made this recording when I was working with a group of kids, teaching them how to be storytellers. Some of you with eagle eyes might also catch the “story triangle” of teller-story-listener on the board behind me. Hey…if an idea works, roll with it.

The story itself is about 4 minutes, if you’re up for a listen. Enjoy!

  1. Oh you are FABULOUS! Yes! You are a storyteller, down to your bones! It in your voice, the way you use your body, not just your face-your body, to tell the tale with you. You were engaging to this big ol’ adult here still grinning away. When you can gets younglings to be entranced and engaged you’ve nailed it. And yes that triangle is oh so important. I’m watching this again, and hope you post another one!

    1. Thank you! I’m definitely in my element when I’m telling stories. It’s fun to do what I love. =)

When I find “The Great Banana Fight of 1978,” you can be sure I’ll post it!

  2. OMG this is so cool! Your hands told the story so well too, I could almost hear them talk to! I could actually picture Truth, naked, and Beauty, rummaging through her closet for something to cloak Truth in! This was absolutely the best slice I’ve read all day> Thankyouthankyou!

    1. Wow! Thank you so much! It’s one of my favorite stories to tell – the whole “naked” part always gets the kids right in there =))

  3. This is fantastic. Thank you for posting. You have a knack for getting your listeners involved in the story you are telling. What a gift!

  4. Whoa, amazing, I was a day or two late, but I remembered you said you were going to post a story, so I went searching. Thanks, this was so fun to listen to and enjoy. You are a born storyteller!
