Slice of Life Day 23: A Pint Low

Grateful for places like this…

And a body that can do this…

And of course goodies like this…

Go donate blood, y’all, if you have a body that lets you. You’re needed!

  1. Thank you for donating! Up until about a year ago, I wasn’t able to donate blood. I had lived in England during a time period when mad cow disease was all the rage (no pun intended) and that put me on some list of prohibited donors. But now I can and I do and I will continue!

  2. I love how you told your post with few words and with the pictures. I need to think about how I might try that. (I talk a lot, even when I’m writing. Ha ha.) Good for you in donating your blood! My husband is O neg, and he’s been donating since he was a teenager. He is approaching 25 gallons donated. Thank you for sharing (and for the idea)!

  3. Thank you for this! As a mother of a child born with an ABO incompatibility whose life was saved by a single ounce of red blood cells at birth, I cannot thank blood donors enough. I need to start back giving. I used to give as often as I could, then life got busy. So I need to resume, and thank you for the nudge.

  4. I wish I could donate. My veins are so small that when I went in high school to donate they told me they wouldn’t have the needle size I needed. But, also my veins are super finicky & the poor phlebotomist always has to try both my arms every single time.
